You would think after ALL those failed mmo’s that attempted to simply copy WoW (which pretty much copied EQ and other mmo’s) that =they would realize what the MMO genre needs is something NEW and fresh, not rehashes of rehashes.
The “MMO” genre isn’t like other genres, it does NOT have to be rpgs, you can have mmo fps, mmo rts, mmo what the hell ever.
Then you have mmorpg sandboxes, like UO, which were successful at the time and then for some strange reason they ditched it and no AAA backed game ever followed that route. UO was VASTLY different from EQ, which was different from Asheron’s Call, you had 3 big MMO’s of that time that were different form one another.
Now you have WoW, Rift, Aion, SW:TOR, all that play pretty much EXACTLY the same and they wonder why the playerbase sticks with WoW and not their games? Because people are tired and sick of WoW, we want something different.
